Who knows, in whatever parallel universe he inhabits there may well be something for Xander to return to. What I do find mildly intriguing is that he has singled out Xander for this particular line of enquiry. Either he feels secure in the knowledge that the other characters _will_ return (let's leave aside the issue of 'to what' for a moment) or it only matters to him that Xander returns, the rest of the characters be damned.
