Jane Eyre Actually Rose a lot of us anti's were saying along that if Spike was going to be redeemed he had to do it away from Buffy. Otherwise the question is always going to be how much of he what he did was because he knew it was right, or because he though Buffy thought it was right. Even the ending fits into Spike's romantic nature. One last Grand Gesture for Love. I won't say this about you, but alot of Spike fans wanted Spike to be both the Big Bad and redeemed. The Protector/hunter and Father/nurturer. It was never going to happen.

A poor ending to a once great series. I dunno, having seen it a few hours ago, I liked it. It certainly wasn't perfect, and doesn't wrap up/explain a lot of stupid things that have happened this season, but it worked for me. -Snorf

The Hellmouth was never sealed before. The last time we saw the Hellmouth it was just a big, gapping hole in the ground. Did Xander's construction crew decided to do something a little extra special while building the new high school or what? It also had a plausible explanation as to how the slayer line had been destabilised (ie the slayer line now partly running through Dawn who would have to be killed for it to go back to normal, which was actually similar to what I thought was the reason for the destabilisation). When a fan version of the finale has better idea's than the actual finale does, then you know the finale wasn't all that it could have been. I was particularly annoyed with the amount of loose ends that were ignored, and the fact that Xander didn't just run a bulldozer through the school so that the seal was exposed to sunlight (or that it wasn't even suggested). Sure, the Ubies could've just waited until night but I'm sure they could have collapsed that cavern and got some sunlight down into the Orc pit. H H
