Okay, what if we have to replace/change an ACTOR? Let's say we have Linda Hamilton (just an offhand idea :p) replace Peta Wilson as Nikita, for instance. Who will you replace then? Will you still watch LFN? ;) Shaza "We can take all the precautions in the world, but this is Michael we are dealing with." - Operations, TANM ------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE web-based e-mail and newsgroup access at: http://MailAndNews.com ------------------------------------------------------------

Will you still watch LFN? It's strictly academic, since the series has halted production, but IMHO if Peta were unable to continue as Nikita the series would be over under its current name. After all these years Peta *is* Nikita and without her there would be no "La Femme Nikita". (The series might still continue as "Section One" or some other name, but the focus would have to change to another character or a group of characters.) Any other character could be written out and replaced to accomodate the loss of an actor, but I would never cast another actor in any of the well-known characters' roles.

OK, here's a variation on this theme. The scene: Section One, May 8, 2035 The occasion: Ms. Jones' (AKA Nikita) Retirement Party In the role of Nikita: Angie Dickinson. Other cast members: Fill in the blanks. The party has to be held at Section, rather than Over Sight or Center; the underling celebrants would never be allowed "up" to the higher levels. The upper echelon has to "come down" to Section, so all can honor their departing leader. I got this crazy notion of Ms. Dickinson as a latter day Nikita last week-end when I saw her life profiled on MSNBC. This could work!!!!!! AZ

But I'm reminded of Hard Landing (I think it was) where he was watching a woman in Section and from the back she resembled Nikita...then she turned and she wasn't, and he turned away. Not the real thing. That's how I'd feel about it. And I don't mean replacing the actress to be another Nikita (which wouldn't work IMO), I think I'd feel that way if they created a new character to take her place. sharp (to e-mail, remove "no spam" from the address.)
