Number 6, lives again. Patrick McGoohan, is bringing a new version of the sixties paranoia-fest, "The Prisoner" to the big screen. Tom Veil, would be a perfect resident of "the village". "You are not a free man; you are a number." chris

Hmm... haven't heard about this. Perhaps you have a press release to prove that the production isn't just rumor? Perhaps you have a press release to prove >that the production isn't just rumor? There have been a few mentions in magazines about it, but there's not much else to it than this information. Patrick McGoohan has written the screenplay. Mel Gibson is supposedly playing No. 6 - he and McGoohan are buddies (Mel convinced him to come out of retirement to be in Braveheart). From what I've read, Mel loves The Prisoner and is willing to do it just for love, i.e., he'd waive a big salary and perhaps go in on it as a partner, taking a cut of profits later. This seems to be the information that I've seen/heard most often in most places, and I think it might be considered reliable. There's a new rumor on alt.tv.prisoner claiming the director will be Simon West, the director of Con Air. From postings there, I gather that he is British and loves The Prisoner. I don't know how reliable this bit of information is since I've seen it nowhere else but on that newsgroup. EgoistX "It is by will alone that I set my mind in motion. . ." - Mentat Piter de Vries
