NBC just announced their fall schedule, and even though Nowhere Man isn't on the agenda, it's about as close as is possible. Consider that the best of the NwM series will be evident in 3 shows consecutively as a part of their Thrillogy on Saturday nights: 8-9 p.m. - The Pretender This is as close to a NwM follow-up show as is out there, with Jarod being chased by "them" (the Center in this case) while he tries to discover his identity. The added bonus is that Jarod solves a crime each week using his pretender/genius abilities, using a persona that is evolving and extremely likable. Add to that the bitchiness/sexiness of the woman chasing him and you have a very able successor to NwM. 9-10 p.m. - Bruce Greenwood is back in Sleepwalkers, where he plays a scientist that enter people's dreams. Welcome back Bruce! 10-11 p.m. - Lawrence Hertzog continues to add his help with Profiler, another paranoid show about an FBI agent that gets into the mind of killers each week and tracks them down with logic and a large dose of intuition. That makes a very nice evening of Nowhere Man-like plot, character, and inspiration. Yeah, I guess it takes 3 shows to equal the enjoyment we used to get out of the one and only Nowhere Man, but I for one welcome NBC's Saturday night Thrillogy. Any word on anything new for you? Glad to know you are still out there and checking in on us. Sandra www.concentric.net/~sandraj7 SJ.simplenet.com

I'm interested in knowing what TV shows Laurence enjoys. I don't have any background other than 25 episodes of Tom and his trials. -jonathan

Where will we see your TV-influence? Jeff "You Can't Live Off of NwM Residuals Forever" Hatch

Why don't we turn this into a combination NwM and Larry Hertzog newsgroup where Larry (or Lawrence) can talk about anything he wants to -- anything at all that springs to mind? I'd be interested. About "Profiler". There seems to be a LOT of similarities between "Profiler" and "Millenium". So who ripped off who, did Larry rip off Chris Carter, or vice-versa?

There was a Canadian program from the '70 called "Seeing Things" about a phychic detective. Plus countless movies about people with a six-sence solving crimes. I didn't think either ripped off the other. Both shows had been in development for a while, without the one knowing about the other. "Profiler" doesn't get into the medi-physical like "Millenium" Also Larry Hertzog didn't create "Profiler", he was an advisor and wrote an episode. Mark

You must admit, though, that there are striking similarities. The way that both Sam and Frank "see" the crimes, the underlying story of the hero being stalked, ect. The differences you mentioned are valid, don't get me wrong, but it seems somebody liked somebody elses formula.

So who ripped off who, did Larry rip off Chris > Carter, or vice-versa? Well, there's where you're wrong. They both started at the same time, and Larry is NOWHERE near as involved as Carter is with Millennium. Larry, if I'm not mistaken, said he doesn't do much with Profiler. Where did you get this idea that he created it or something?
