1996-04-06 00:00:00 - LARRY AWARDS Update - (puddintame@aol.com)

Okay! The response to my Larry Awards post was even better than I, the ever-optimist, could have predicted. A lot of you had similar questions, so to clarify: "Absolute Zero" the first, 90 minute episode, DOES count as an episode. To those who have complained that these awards are premature becuase there are still more episodes to be shown this season: Calm yourselves. I'll not announce the winners until a week after the season finale. SO if you want to change a vote or two after you've cast...all you have to do is E-Mail me. Some of the make-up-your-own-category categories are intriguing: FAVORITE EPISODE(as opposed to best...I guess) BEST USE OF SHATTERING EFFECT(the suggestion was "Best Broken Glass" occurence but since it is sometimes a plate or a cup I decided to make it more generic) BEST CLUE/RED HERRING(I added the "red herring" because at this point we really can't tell the legitimate clues from the non-clues) MOST UNDERRATED EPISODE MOST OVERRATED EPISODE and the inevitable "doppelganger" to the "Best Episode" category: WORST EPISIDE. I'm not sure that the "Most Overrated" and "Worst" categories are appropriate for a newsgroup that is obviously interested in praising the show...but I guess you got to give the people what they want) So...to sum up the categories so far: BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR BEST WRITER BEST DIRECTOR BEST EPISODE FAVORITE EPISODE BEST USE OF SHATTERING EFFECT BEST CLUE/RED HERRING MOST UNDERRATED EPISODE MOST OVERRATED EPISODE WORST EPISODE BEST MAKE-UP-YOUR-OWN-CATEGORY And no, you don't have to cast a vote in EVERY category if you are not so inclined. I won't reveal the front-runners for fear of prejudicing the votes but so far the leaders in each category are a bit unexpected(at least to me). Oh yeah, and remember if you don't vote, you're not allowed to gripe about the results. :) Vote early but not often. Ah, election years...
