2000-03-04 00:00:00 - New Season - Possible Spoiler - 3/3/00 ep. - (mlessigmann <mlessigmann@gowebway.com>)

It seems that this NG has been the victim of serial apathy and for good reason. The new season has been one disappointment after another. Does the episode on 3/3/00 remind anyone else of the movie "Tarantula" with John Agar? The first victim looked just like Leo G. Carrol after the serum got to him in that classic flic. I guess it beats the Casablanca reworking of last season.

I thought the same thing. Ruppenthal has turned out good work in the past, but that ep was just mediocre. There was no real sense of creeping, encroaching menace, which there should have been in a tale like that. And the subplots of the Unfaithful Wife and Bad Boss didn't help. Lou Cariou has made two trips to the Outer Limits and neither of them have been worth watching twice, which is unfortunate. One would think someone of his stature would get better eps to be in. Next week is this SIMON ep that someone has been plugging since the onset of the season, and it didn't look like any great shakes to me. But we'll see. So far the only ep I'd give more than a star or two was Judgment Day...
