Hands down the best episode of the new season. Wonderfully written by Scott Peters the Story Editor this year, and superbly acted by David Ogden Stiers and Samantha Mathis. The special effects were really great too. Hopefully there's more where this came from. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own

I think that THE SHROUD was based on one of the plot seeds that Pen Densham came up with to prove that OL would be a viable TV show. I'm almost certain that I saw a sentence to the effect of: "Christ is cloned from DNA on the Shroud of Turin! " in that list. It doesn't matter, because the show was absolutely superlative, so if it took that long for the seed to bear fruit, good. "WHat takes a long time will be good in the end" -- German proverb. Stiers impressed me the most with his take on Tilford. Wm Davis assayed a similar character in OUT OF BODY and I didn't buy it for a moment, he was just a Bad Guy. Tilford is definitely not playing with a full deck, and he has an evil Ulterior Motive, but for all that I felt like he really believed in his God, and was really convinced that his mad experiment's result would be the Son of God. Making his defeat even greater, and bringing home the Control Voice's moral even harder. " Of course you will pooh-pooh whatever's fresh and new, and declare it's crude and mean, for art stopped short in the cultivated court of the empress Josephine." --- W.S. Gilbert
