1997-08-24 00:00:00 - OUTER LIMITS: 8/25-31 EPISODES - (Peter Petrisko <firstname.lastname@example.org>)
Syndicated ep., week of Aug 25-31 (check local listings for day & time) "From Within" In a small town, a developmentally disabled young man (Neil Patrick Harris) is the only person not affected by madness-inducing parasitic worms. As the worms make toast of the townfolks' brains, the young man has to figure out how to remove them. (The worms, not the brains.) Luckily, he is played by TV's Doogie Howser, and as we all know Doogie taught himself brain surgery at age three. So there you go. Sun. 8/24: (On SHOWTIME, 11:30MST) <no title listed> The captain of a space station is accused of killing the crew. In his defense, he says, "When the crew yelled 'Mutiny' I thought that meant I was suppose to kill THEM, not the other way around. Sorry." Ok, you caught me, I made up that last part. Stars Mario Van Peeples. THE OUTER LIMITS (original series) is shown weekdays on TNT cable, 9am pst / 12pm est. Here are this week's episodes... Mon. 8/25: "Moonstone" The staff of military and scientific personnel on the moon discovers a strange object that is round, smooth - and alive! And like most military & scientific personnel in these stories, they just have to mess with it until something bad happens. Will they ever learn? Tues.8/26: "The Probe" The survivors of a Pacific plane crash find themselves sitting motionless on a seemingly solid sea. When the fog clears, it isn't the sea at all. Its.... well, that would be telling! This was the last ep. of the original series and, in my opinion, one of the best. Wed. 8/27: "Production and Decay of Strange Particles" After a nuclear reactor reaches critical, a flood of radiation is released in the form of near-human creatures. Didn't that happen at Three Mile Island back in the 70's too? Features Leonard Nimoy. Thur.8/28: "Counterweight" Six ordinary people - and an extraordinary blob of light - board a rocketship for a simulated space flight. "Stewardess, this blob of light is in MY seat and he doesn't have a ticket!" Fri. 8/29: "Don't Open Til Doomsday" Eloping teenagers spend their wedding night in a bridal suite that hasn't been occupied since 1929. In it is a box containing a creature from another planet. Evidently, the maid hasn't cleaned the room since 1929 either - why else would that box still be there? The creature just might ruin their honeymoon but I'm sure they'll laugh about it in a few years. Unless the creature eats them, of course. We now return control of your computer screen to you. Until next week...

Stars Mario Van Peeples. That's one of my least favorite episodes...doesn't seem to be well written. If your son suddenly appeared to you, thousands of miles out in space, with a baseball and mitt, wouldn't you be suspicious?? Would you follow him into an airlock, and blow yourself into outer space?? ARGH&&#%@#!!

While I disagree with some of his episode ratings, it does have the advantage of comments by Schow who wrote the OL companion. Best.
