a good episode: but why did he have to die? Wasn't that a gratuitous twist? I know he was trying to save the woman and her father, but why sacrifice himself to the mob? Couldn't he have shot the door lock from the other side? And also, if the alien had adapated himself to the planet in order to survive the thousand year solar event, why did he die as well? Other than that it was a good "Cry Wolf" episode.

>a good episode: but why did he have to die? It made the point more strongly. That was one of the most fierce mob scenes I've EVER seen on TeeVee, BTW.... >And also, if the alien had adapated himself to the planet in order to >survive >the thousand year solar event, why did he die as well? Probably they "adapted" by going underground at that time! I can't imagine any organism weathering that sort of cataclysm if exposed to it. BTW, glad to see Alan "Dr. Royce" Scarfe back for another go at OL. He's one of the best actors the show has used, IMHO. There are a few others I'd like to see again, too (what's happened to Teryl Rothery!?) --- Joe Stefano certainly had his OL Repertoire Company, why shouldn't Pen Densham develop one as well?
