Hi. Two weeks ago I saw one of the best OL episodes Ive ever seen! Now Id like to know the English title of it, for Im living in Germany and dont know where to get an episode guide on OL. In this episode a part of a city was transported to an alien moon or whatever ( is it a remake from one of the old OL episodes transmitted in the 60s???), and soon the people living in this transported city realize what has happened. The daughter of one of those gets contamined with an alien disease and in the end they all do and die. Well, does anybody know what I mean? Would be nice if you could tell me the original title. The one-eyed vampire.

It is a remake. THe original 60s ep was titled A FEASIBILITY STUDY, the new ep is simply FEASIBILITY STUDY. Both were written by Joseph Stefano, but there were a lot of differences. Both are fine episodes. "It is said that Music is a universal language, crossing the barriers of culture, age, and language. Perhaps, eventually, we will learn that it also spans those of time... and space."

Cool... wish they would show it in Germany, too... but I think Ill have to wait a long time... Here, "A feasibility study" was named "The end of the street". Sounds nice, I think... Ive read the original story in a book on OL. Yeah, seems to be a little different. I think the older one was more referring to a god, more than the new. For I dont believe in any god, I probably would like the new episode more than the old one, hehe... The one-eyed vampire. NP: LABYRINTH - "Return to heaven denied" (how symbolic!!!)

>And the aliens in the remake (jmho) are better! I don't know. The new alien race is good, but the Triunes suffer, not from their design, but from the way they're filmed. Girotti gets right on top of them, and those costumes were never meant for that sort of scrutiny. He did the same thing in THE REFUGE, with the zombies at the finish, and reduced them to mere Halloween monsters instead of the elements of dream horror Brennert no doubt expected. On the other hand, Girotti's staging of the conclusion of FEASIBILITY STUDY is better than Haskin's in the original. IMHO. "It is said that Music is a universal language, crossing the barriers of culture, age, and language. Perhaps, eventually, we will learn that it also spans those of time... and space."

I knew that in Germany the titles were not the same. Sometimes I have seen them referred to in various largely Deutsch message groups, so to speak. That is a nice poetic title. I was around when the first ep of OL aired....it was my favorite show, and after a 30 year wait it came back! There was not much reference to God in the original Feasibility Study, no more than in the new one....the climax took place in a church, that was all.... But the aliens were very different, and there was no second alien race, just the abductors (the Luminoids, not the Triunes) and the earthlings. "It is said that Music is a universal language, crossing the barriers of culture, age, and language. Perhaps, eventually, we will learn that it also spans those of time... and space."

Ah,I hate most of the German translations of English titles, esp. of movies. Eg. "The Crow - city of angels" - here it is "The crow - revenge of the crow". Or "Waxwork 2" - here: "Spaceshift". Ouch! The only case I know where most of the German titles are as good as the original ones is OL. There was not much reference to God in the >original Feasibility Study, no more than in the new one....the climax took >place in a church, that was all.... Maybe the original story isnt as referring to a god as it seemed after reading the story, but this one in the book was, imo. There was this guy always wondering if his god was there in this alien world, too. The one-eyed vampire.
