THE OUTER LIMITS debuted in the fall of '63, and in its first season got high ratings. However, after being renewed for season two, it was moved to another night only to be slaughtered in the ratings by an unstoppable ratings hit on another network. OL was cancelled mid-season. My final question - what competing tv show beat OUTER LIMITS in the ratings, so much so that OUTER LIMITS was pulled mid-season. t h e i n v i s i b l e s

It was the "Jackie Gleason Show" that crushed the "Outer Limits" in the fall of 1964. Network Executives think they know everything, but they are the most useless people on the face of this earth. They should have left it on Monday night, where Stefano predicted it would have had a 5 year run. That would have been interesting to see a color "Outer Limits" in 1966 and beyond. Kudos to Stefano for bowing out, due to a DUMB DUMB DUMB move made by those ABC Network weasels! -------------------==== Posted via Deja News ====----------------------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Post to Usenet

"Get away from that TV, son, you KNOW we ALWAYS watch JACKIE GLEASON!!!!" The Jackie Gleason Show, starring The Great One, may Zanti Misfits take up residence in his cranial cavity. Ygnaiih!! And so I waited a LONG TIME for my favorite show to return: "...more than a quarter of a century to some people..."
