Thankfully, the local affliate ran "Second Thoughts" after all, after pre-empting "Double Helix" last week & advertising it as this week's ep. Wow. It's eps. like this that keep me coming back... I haven't seen Howie Mandel in much of anything since his stand-up days (I never did watch St. Elsewhere) but, boy, can he act. The ep. could've easily been over-the-top &, thus, fallen flat on its face in lesser hands... And the ending, with the all-consuming dark thoughts of the last brain added, rang true... (even if the "sensitive poet-type" was a bit cliched, but with everything else the ep had going for it that could be forgiven.) Some good tv...

Azzopardi and Wincenty outdid themselves on this ep, too, in the same way Oswald and Hall used to go for broke on Joseph Stefano's scripts. And I would have never dreamed Howie Mandel had it in him.... NECRONOMICON, all-instrumental electronic music inspired by H.P.Lovecraft, now available on c-60 cassette.
