1997-02-01 00:00:00 - Exodus spoilers and OUR NEWEST SLIDER!!!! - (Percy Hui <percy@cyberdude.com>)

All of the following information was obtained from the FOX official website. http://foxworld.com/presroom.htm#sliders ROGER DALTRY GUEST STARS, KARI WUHRER JOINS CAST OF SLIDERS IN AN EXCITING TWO-PARTER FEB. 21 AND 28 John Rhys-Davies Wrote The Story Roger Daltry guest stars and Kari Wuhrer joins the cast in a recurring role in a special two-part episode of the action/adventure series SLIDERS Friday, Feb. 21, and Friday, Feb. 28 (8:00-9:00 PM) on FOX. In "The Exodus," a story idea by cast member John Rhys-Davies, the Sliders land on a world on the verge of the apocalypse and panic has led to the demise of law and order. A pulsar has entered the Earth's orbit and is emitting intense radiation -- Russia has already been wiped out. The Sliders stumble upon a military/industrial complex and discover a scientist who, together with Quinn's knowledge, can get a certain amount of people off the planet by sliding. Quinn and a female officer, Maggie (Wuhrer), begin sliding to other worlds to scout for the perfect location while Wade and Arturo must contend with the egomaniac Colonel Rickman (Daltry) as they argue over who will be saved. Meanwhile, a serial killer has invaded the base and is systematically putting people into a coma. Faced with eminent danger, the Sliders do their best to stay together, but one of them does not make the slide and may be lost to the group forever. Daltry, a member of the rock band "The Who," wrote the music and performed in the feature film "Tommy" and its original soundtrack. Daltry's additional feature film credits include "The Legacy," "Buddy's Song," "Mack the Knife," "If Looks Could Kill" and "Lightning Jack." Daltry has appeared in the television movies "The Wizard of Oz in Concert" and "Vampirella" and on the series "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," "Highlander," "Tales From the Crypt" and "Midnight Caller." Wuhrer began her career at MTV on "Remote Control" and subsequently starred on the series "Class of '96" and later as a recurring guest on "BEVERLY HILLS, 90210." Her feature film credits include "The Crossing Guard," "An Occasional Hell," "Higher Learning," "Beyond Desire" and "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane." Her recent projects include "Anaconda" and Stephen King's "Thinner."

Nope. It's not Logan. The scientist is the husband of the new character, played by Kari Wuhrer - Capt. Maggie Beckett. > > Quinn and a female officer, Maggie (Wuhrer), begin sliding to > other >worlds to scout for the perfect location while Wade and Arturo must > contend with > > So they can control sliding? It is intimated that the Sliders may aquire this technology, though I hope not. > >the egomaniac Colonel Rickman (Daltry) as they argue over who will be > >saved. Even after reading the script, I have to say - God only knows. Of course that's only Part One, so maybe it'll be explained. > >Wuhrer began her career at MTV on "Remote Control" and subsequently > > I can't even picture who this is, but she better be cute. After looking around at web sites devoted to her, I still have NO IDEA what she looks like. She seems to have looked completely different in every role, but she is very pretty - not that I care. Maggie Beckett is a great character and I actually hope that the actress is not "too cute" for this no-nonsense role. > I'm definately looking forward to this!! Since JRD wrote this, he has a > brain and knows sliding and will keep stuff together, I hope...this looks > great. I can't wait! It has a few "head-slappers" (where you go "Who thought of THAT?!") but overall pretty good. I'm looking forward to it. (WAY forward - three weeks!!!) Ben

KARI WUHRER??!!!! That obnoxious redhead on REMOTE CONTROL who couldn't even generate a personality when she was opposite Marc Singer? I think I'm gonna be sick. --TDJ

Uh, I wonder who...yeah great, but they should play it up as one of them MAY NOT make the slide-that would surprise people if they don't know JRD is leaving. Of course, if it was a guess thing I wouldn't guess him as one of the four... >Daltry, a member of the rock band "The Who," wrote the music and I thought this guy was a James Bond for some reason. >Wuhrer began her career at MTV on "Remote Control" and subsequently I can't even picture who this is, but she better be cute I'm definately looking forward to this!! For the record, what ever happened to Remote Control? I used to watch that all the time. Losers getting pulled through trap doors and that dorky guy who always came out and sang TV show themes. Ahh...now that's entertainment. It's where Adam Sandler got his start, too! =) --Kevin Days

I would imagine that MTV dumped it and the principals were free to move on to other pursuits - such as Sliders. This begs the question: If Sliders is so ~lucky~ as to secure the services of this Kari Wuhrer, does that mean that Sliders is aspiring to the same standards of ~quality~? People would come and go at all hours. Wuhrer was the REMOTE CONTROL Bimbo at the time. Wuhrer's boyfriend had been warming up his tinny little Japanese motorcycle for ten minutes right outside my window. No muffler. I went down to ask him to stop. I was very polite, more than the idiot boyfriend deserved. Wuhrer looked at me with contempt, snapped, "Chill out, dude," and turned her back on me. The hell with her. -- Stop by http://www.fred.net/thirteen/

Ben, thank you for including references to your information. I enjoy reading your postings! I would like to see John take time from his flying lessons to write some more for this show. Have you read any of the comics? Take care, Michelle
