I like SLIDERS, but enough with the movie rip-offs. So far, they've stolen plots from TWISTER, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, DRAGONHEART, TREMORS, THE WIZARD OF OZ, BACKDRAFT, MAD MAX, and now, in "The Breeder," SPECIES. SLIDERS is falling into the same trap that befell SOMETHING IS OUT THERE, of which there was nothing original, just old plots. I like the characterization and interactions on the show but the plots need more thought. Anyone agree? Anyone agree? you're right, Jerry--while rip-offs have always been part an parcel of SLIDERS to some extent, we've been deluged with rip-offs and take-offs to the detriment of everything else. While there are the stray moments of characterization genius (both EXODUS and SOLE SURVIVORS had them), the producers think we'd much rather see a silly action/adventure series instead. -- "Falling in .c-2k with you would be better than winning the Exacta, but I'm in love with somebody else." |?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|??|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?|?| TDJ |*| Tdeja@OSC.STATE.NY.US |*| Cause love kills, dude.

Perhaps there IS an all to coincidental flavor of some of the episodes and currently popular movies, like in the case of Twister-- which, in fact, I cannot recall ANY correlation of the plots... that episode, called something or other "Acid Test" was about a village of naturalists forced to reside that way as demanded by electric tornadoes where as the MOVIE TWISTER was about meteorologists trying to analyze something naturally occurring. Somehow I'm missing the "rip off" quality there. .c-2k: If you don't know you better ASK somebody.

You are correct on the Twister one, however they have ripped off movies on other episodes.
