If you are watching a film, for example, and someone tells you the end of it before you get to it, you will be a little pissed off, because they *sopiled* it for you they just gave you a spoiler.

In my point of view, a spoiler is anything that gives away information vital to the enjoyment of a show you haven't seen. It includes plot-twists and surprise guest stars. Like saying Darth Vader was Skywalker's father to someone who hasn't seen "Empire Strikes Back." Or saying Quinn's father appears in "Gillian of the Spirits." It also includes posting messages with headings like "DINOSAUR WORLD COMING IN TWO DAYS!"
