How about a world where something relatively "simple" has happened...like how about if wolves were not domesticated into dogs? Lives lost, sheperds work harder, property looted, etc, etc.

As I recall from the book (I missed the primeir episode) they can't slide into a world where they have no analogs. A somewhat limiting concept but one which keeps them from confronting a world with no San Franscisco. Question: Why do you assume the Sliders would have no analogs on the world John suggests? Also, there have been worlds (at least one or two) when it's been mentioned that the analog in that world has died. I believe that was the case when they slid to the "No Technology" world; didn't Quinn's father there say that his son had died?
