2000-04-24 00:00:00 - Voyager promo (spoilers) - (arlie88@aol.comNoSpam)

Possible spoilers for last four episodes of Voyager... Here's a play-by-play of the promo currently running on UPN: "This fall, Voyager launches its final season." (Shot of Voyager being pursued by a ship that looks like a manta ray.) (Shot of Janeway standing by Paris at the con, Chuckles leaning over the railing in the background. They all lurch as the ship is hit.) (Shot of Paris in the Delta Flyer, the Doc manning a station in the background.) "But before it begins, you have to see how this season ends." (A robotic arm/probe extending to grapple onto Voyager's hull) (The Delta Flyer launching and flying off) (Seven, Janeway, Tuvok, and Kim beaming off a Borg vessel -- from "Dark Frontier"?) (Borg drones in a swamp -- looks like from "Survival Instinct") (Seven ducking away from explosion) (various space FX shots) (Seven grimacing as someone grabs her face and shines a green light on her) (Something tearing or crashing a hole into Voyager's hull -- from "Fury"?) (Kes morphing from young to old) Janeway (on bridge, Tuvok in background): "Intuder alert!" Harry (with Tuvok and Neelix, apparently somewhere on Voyager): "We're abandoning ship!" (He puts Tuvok's arm around his shoulder, and he and Neelix surge forward, supporting an apparently injured Tuvok. There's some kind of hose attached to Tuvok. Harry's uniform is unzipped halfway to his waist.) "Four all new episodes." (Shot of Borg drones.) (Shot of Seven -- minus implants -- kissing someone. It's not Janeway. It's a male ridgehead -- her lost Borg love, one assumes.) (Shot of the Doc standing next to an older version of himself who's dressed like Mr. Rogers -- Dr. Zimmerman, I presume.) Deanna Troi (standing next to Doc): "You're both jerks!" "Leading to the season finale with the return of the Borg Queen." (Borg drones advancing in Voyager corridor) (Harry and Tuvok standing side-by-side in a Borg cube. Tuvok fires a phaser rifle. Harry looks worried.) (Drones getting hit by phaser fire, apparently unaffected) (Borg cubes fly at camera.) (Shot of the Borg Queen -- Susannah Thompson again.) Borg Queen: "We have to pay them a visit." (Drones walking forward through green smoke.) (Voyager battling the manta ray ship.) (Borg drones, one holding a severed Borg head.) (Janeway firing phaser rifle) (Seven backhands Borg Queen, only to have her wrist grabbed, her blow stopped effortlessly) (Seven faces angry Klingon warrior in full regalia) (Torres shoves at what looks like a Borg attacker with the broadside of a phaser rifle) (The Borg Queen turns to look at a drone over her shoulder) (Drone looks back at her) (Tuvok on a Borg vessel with a drone, swinging something around to protect himself) (Janeway being held from behind by a drone, screaming horribly as something is injected into her neck.) (What looks like a Borg ship exploding) "The first of four new can't-miss Voyagers begins May 3 on UPN." -- Arlie

Arlie, thanks for the play-by-play. I couldn't catch the promo on UPN--and there's only so much UPN programing I can watch <eg> till I just downloaded it from the site. * * * * * * * >Borg Queen: "We have to pay them a visit." Duh. I need to get my hearing checked--I thought she said "They'll have to pay for their little visit." lol I wonder what the deal is with the Kligon warrior? At first I thought "Infinite Regress" but he looks total flesh & blood to me. Its not from "Barge" either--at least I dont think so. And yeah--a few of the Borg scenes like with Janeway & Co beaming off a cube--were from Dark Frontier. I know a cut and paste job when I see it :-) >Harry's uniform is unzipped halfway to his waist.) Really *bats eyes innocently* I didn't even notice <vbeg> >(Janeway being held from behind by a drone, screaming horribly as something >is injected into her neck.) That was the BEST part! Like something out of "Halloween" starring the original teen screamer "Jamie Lee Curtis" lol >-- Arlie Zoe

The problem is, once they finish the regeneration cycle and their consciousness leaves 'Unimatrix Zero', and they awake back on the cube, they have no memory of the experience, and have no clue that it even exists. This severely annoys the queen, who begins severing afflicted drones heads and dissecting them in order to find the exact frequency that allows this effect to occur. Supposedly it is only present for 1 in a million drones. All of these facts make it difficult for them to form any resistance because 1.) They cannot remember anything when they wake, and 2.) With the small ratio, there would probably be only one of these drones on any one or two cubes. By the way, be sure to check out the second severed head that is featured - - - although I don't remember the name of the ep, it is Brents severed head from TNG ep with Mark Twain (with added Borg tech to disguise it of course).

Not really, at least not at this point. << *Is* there a Borg resistance movement? >> Janeway is the one who really pushes them into the whole thing (shocking I am sure). << Groan. If I never see another Janeway-Seven scene again, it will be too soon. -- Arlie

<< Geez, what a lame resistance. How does the Queen even know about it? >> By the way, be sure to check out the second severed head that is featured - - - although I don't remember the name of the ep, it is Brents severed head from TNG ep with Mark Twain (with added Borg tech to disguise it of course). << LOL! They showed a severed Borg head in the previews. It could have been Brent's, I think. -- Arlie

>> No, G'Kar said the bit about Seven and Janeway having a lesbian kiss was an April Fool's joke - and that I *hoped* the bit about the virtual romance was a joke... << Okay, I misunderstood. You said Braga's talk at Grand Slam was on April 1, so I thought that's the info you meant was a joke. The lesbian kiss rumor did not come from Braga, or from Grand Slam. -- Arlie
