A trek is not dead, but it is in a comma with the machines are doing everything and the doctor is recommending pulling the plug.

It's not dead, it's morphing... What ever happened to that 'prequel' idea--read about this in some Trek bio (TOS), where the idea was kicked around to do Spock and Kirk back in academy days or previous to captainship and science guyship...it could be like that DS9 ep where they visit the past...easily done! Trek is very formulaic now. Maybe they should bring in some sci-fi guest writers... hmmm...where have I heard THAT before? Paul

It's definitely withering away at the very best. The ideals of fairness and equal chances for everybody are no longer upheld :-( Julianna -------- Tuvok: The main reason to watch Voyager!

2000-02-01 00:00:00 - Re: Is Star Trek Dead? - (BobbyE@webtv.net)

Why do so many people keep saying it's dead? Because most episodes aren't remotely equal to say....arguably the best of all ST episodes- TNG's 'Best of Both Worlds'?? No ST has had all 'A' episodes....yet most of the 'F' episodes are -somewhat- enjoyable. I have enjoyed every episode of each series so far; some a great deal more than others, naturally.. And, I'm going to watch the new series regardless of who says the franchise is dead. I'm sure most fans will, too; hardly a death.
