Anubis was an Abydonian who was the leader of Ra's Horus Guards, as well as being his First Prime, having previously been trained as a Jackal Guard.

Biography
Background information
He was born on Abydos and conscripted into the service of the Supreme System Lord Ra to serve as one of his Horus Guards. He worked his way up the rank to become the First Prime. Unlike other First Primes, he did not have a golden symbol on his forehead, he had a regular symbol on his right shoulder. He had great physical prowess, being able to break a staff weapon in half with his bare hands.

He arrived on Abydos with Ra in his Cheops class warship. He and several Horus Guards entered the Temple of Ra and attacked several members of Colonel Jack O'Neill's team. He knocked out Lt. Louis Ferretti and the rest of the soldiers and took them to Ra's ship. After taking Ferretti before Ra, he placed him and the others in a pit.

O'Neill, Dr. Daniel Jackson, Lt. Charles Kawalsky and Lt. Brown (Lieutenant)|Brown returned to the pyramid. He used the Transportation rings to ambush O'Neill and Jackson in the Stargate room. He escorted them onto the ship and before Ra. Ra ordered him to remove his Jaffa helmet|helmet and reveal his face. O'Neill managed to get his Staff weapon and killed Horus Guard 2, but Jackson was killed by Horus. Ra was shielded by the children that followed him and he hit O'Neill from behind but was ordered not to kill him by Ra.

After Ra resurrected Jackson in his Sarcophagus, Ra forced Jackson to execute his friends publicly, but a group of young Abydonians, led by Skaara and Sha're, having learned their history from Jackson, rebelled and created a distraction, allowing Jackson to shoot at Ra and escape with the team. He ordered his Horus Guard to attack the crowd and kill the team but they were unsuccessful.

O'Neill's team and the Abydonians attack the Temple of Ra and kill several Horus Guards. Ra orders Anubis to send the Mark III Nuclear warhead to Earth. He uses the rings to travel to the Stargate room and attacks O'Neill. O'Neill is able to hold him down and activate the rings, with only Anubis' head in the area of transportation. Immediately prior to activating the rings to kill the first prime, O'Neill sarcastically tells him to give his regards to the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh, King Tut. This causes Daniel and Sha're, on Ra's ship, to be transported back to the pyramid, while only Anubis' head is transported up to the ship, killing the First Prime.
