Botany Bay was the name of the harbour in Sydney,
Australia.
History
When the British first colonized Australia, they turned the bay into a continental prison for their convicts, who were originally from half a world away, with no way back. When

Hadante with no possible way out, due to no
Dial Home Device,

Behind the scenes
Botany Bay is not Sydney's harbor, nor was it the site of the first settlement. Sydney Cove, about 10 km north of Botany Bay, was the site of the first (penal) colony in 1788. Botany Bay was the site of the first landing by the HMS Endeavour, commanded by Captain James Cook, when he navigated the east coast of Australia in 1770. Botany Bay was the intended site of the first colony but was found to be unsuitable for settlement.
