Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. It is a landlocked city of approximately 1.25 million inhabitants (2-2.2 million in the wider metro area), built on the Vltava river. Famous landmarks include the Prague Castle (the seat of the President of the Czech Republic), the Charles Bridge (an ancient stone bridge), the St. Vitus cathedral, or the Old Town Square with its historical astronomical clock.
