An energy weapon retained or redeveloped by Vanir|the Asgard splinter faction, the Vanir, presumably related to their Ida|Ida galaxy Asgard|counterparts' ion gun; it is significantly weaker, being unable to pierce the shields of a Traveler generational ship's shields.
